Field F9 error when importing Excel file to existing table

    Using Access 2010

I'm in the process of creating a fairly simple database to track sales and report a few metrics. I've created the table that will hold the data and it is only eight fields. In addition, I've created an Excel spreadsheet that will be uploaded each month. It has eight columns that match the fields in the database table. When I try to append the records from the Excel spreadsheet into the database table, I get this message:

Name:	ErrorMsg2.JPG
Views:	11
Size:	15.0 KB
ID:	19132

When I press OK, it tells me the table has not been updated with the data from the spreadsheet. Any ideas on what is causing this?

If necessary, I can upload the files for review.

    Thanks!
    Doug

I have had this problem quite often, Excel seems to think that there is data in columns I and onwards. The way I solved it was to open the Excel document and delete columns I to end, even though they are showing blank.
