How to import data with OLE DB provider for ORACLE?

    Hi,

I have been exporting data from an old program into Excel via the Microsoft Data Access, OLE DB provider for Oracle data Connection.

Excel starts to crash due to too much data so I was planning on doing the same thing in Access 2010.

I canīt find any option that looks the same like in Excel, is this possible to do?

When I import in Excel it just asks for server name and login information.

    Hi,

Looks right, but Iīm not able to connect.

I am new to this and in Excel itīs so easy to connect.

Guess I have to discuss it with my IT department.

More info about setting up Oracle connection in Access http://wiki.ispirer.com/sqlways/user...s-service-name

I am remembering more now. We had to install a driver on each user computer - OraClient10g, but I also read that alternative using DNS is possible, maybe that's what the Excel connection wizard uses because it asks for server name. I don't remember (if I ever knew it) the server name hosting the remote Oracle db I connect to.
