    distinct

    Hello All,

Can anyone tell me if using DISTINCT is an effective way of dealing with duplicate data? I basically have two large queries, that I am joining together. Both queries, and the tables they are made from, do not contain duplicate data, however there are duplicates when I join the two queries.

I am in the midst of trying to figure out what is causing the duplicates and fixing the issues there, but overall I am curious if using the DISTINCT is a lazy way of get rid of duplicates and if I could be excluding data if I don't find a remedy for why duplicates are being created.

    Thanks!

What fields are you joining the two queries on? Post the SQL statement.

Did you try DISTINCT or DISTINCTROW? Do you get what you want?
