Linking Subform Control to Main form

I have a Main form (frmAlerts) with a control for Email addresses (Email), and then i have a sub form (subfrmLinks) that has also has a control for Email addresses (Links). The Main form is set to single form, and the subform to continuous, since the main Email address can be linked with multiple other ones.

I want to be able to Click on one of the email addresses in the subform and have the main form pull up the record that matches.

Here is what i've tried so far: On the Subform, in the Links (on double click):
    1. Go to Control Email

    2. [Email]=[Forms]![subfrmLinks]![Links]

but when i double click it, it says enter parameter value Forms!subfrmLinks!Links.

    Thank you for your help!

The subform's Master Link and Child Link properties are not set or are not properly set.
