yes, i have checked the database. thank you very much.. =).. but for the architect, client, product, sub cont, contractor, cs and qs, the user want to enter new data in the form and auto save it if its not already in the form. can i do that ? because i can see in the look up table it has been saved to the limit to the list.

    data entry

I would like you have a look at the new form called Universal Table Updater that I have added.
it very simple to use and will save you a lot of trouble creating seperate forms for all the tables that you had mentioned in you thread. While designing a data base I always look to minimize the no.of forms, queries and reports and try to make multifunctional database objects.

    How to use

You have a Option Group to select the table.
Select Option say tblclient and Click Load data Button. data in the Table will be displayed in the List Box.
To enter a new Client Name: Select Table, Enter a Name in the Enter Data Text Box and Click Enter data button. New Name will be displayed in the List Box along with the previous Data.
To Delete data Select table sourece, Click Load data, Select a name and Click Delete Button. The Name is Deleted and Client List is Updated in the list Box.

Now your Job replicate the code for all the tables.

Hope this will help you. Another question is this a project or are you doing this database as a part of your job.

    Hope this will help you.

hi maximus.. again a question.. i want to create a report fo the database.. only for the name, used product, architect, contractor, client,cs and qs, project value and project type. then ive created it. but the used product will appear only a little above from the others. how can i make it appear in the same level with the others?

    Reports

Glad to see that you have retained some of my original design. I was rather puzzled that you have not put the List box in the universal form to display data from tables that you select. The list I used it so that the user can see the results of any addition or deletion of data. Anyways attaching a mdb file with a report tblProject hope it solves your problem.

i dont use the list box because that data may contain a lot of data. but wait. yes. u r absolutely right. i shud put the list box so that the user can see whether that data already exist or not right. thank you so much.. i never think bout it before..

is your problem solved. Do you need help to prevent user from entering data that already exist from universal form.
