Question The command "SELECT DISTINCT Customers.Country FROM Customers;" is not explained

I'm am reading the Access 20101 "Step by Step" by Cox and Lambert", page 193. I'm going to add a Control (a Combo Box), the purpose of which is to create a simple Query that is to extract every country in a Country file and display the results. In the property Sheet the Row Source Type is set to Table/Query, and the content of the Row Source Box is set to "SELECT DISTINCT Customers.Country FROM Customers;"

The syntax of this statment is unclear for me, and it is not explained in the book. Can somebody advice me to a good Source of Information on statements like this?
