What is the purpose in creating double or triple links between two tables?

Instead of having one link between two tables, I have seen a few cases where there could be two links.

    1. What is the purpose of having more than one link?
    2. Can you define multiple links between tables in table relationships?
    3. If you are in query design, can you have multiple links between tables that have been added in design view?
    4. If you are in query design, can you have multiple links between queries that have been added in design view?
