Compatibility Issue between MS Access 2000 and Access 2010

I am currently using an MS Access Database 2000 as template. My computer runs on MS Office 2010 and Windows 7 Professional with 64-bit operating system. I need to reconfigure some of the reports as required and I am getting errors. Do I have to convert Access 2000 to 2010? to be able to do any changes? Please advise.

    Thanks

Do you have any reason to retain the file in 2000 format?

No but I am not sure whether converting the database to 2010 would pose some problems

You already have problems. Wouldn't hurt to try conversion and test. Would still have the old file.
