    Database compacts on close ...yet "Compact On Close" option is not set ?

    My database .. compacts on close even though the "Compact on Close" option is not set.

    Anyone have any ideas ?

    Ok ... thanks. There is no code. That I can assure you cause I would have had to do it .. and I know I didn't. So .. I will make a new file and import all my objects.

    I do notice that there is a Database.mdb file that appears when I close my database .. and it takes a bit for it to disappear. I think that it is compacting at that point ?

    I would prefer just to compact as needed .. not automatically. I will do as above and see how it goes.

    Ok .. well that fixed the compacting issue on close. Much better now.

    However .. I tried some code to compact on demand from the quit button on a form, but it does not seem to do anything ?

    I've never tried code to run the compact. I just do it manually.

    Ok .. thank you. I am ok with that. I am not experiencing any problems now.

    Edit .. it appears to be working fine now. I will leave it alone.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
