    LAN connectivity error for .accdb file but local is ok

    hi guys

    i have an delphi compiled program which uses the Microsoft access Database file in .accdb format
    and i do not have any access to the source code. the file is compiled to .exe format. so i can not change the source code or contact the programmer !!
    when i run the Application in local server everything is fine, and the program runs correctly
    but in other PCs in my LAN enviroment i can not open the program, and there are no errors shown to me just ERROR CONNECTING TO THE DATABASE
    i checked all the folder permissions and they are all changed to full controll for everyone
    i can use UNC to the database location and have a full access in there (//app/foldername$/)
    i can ping the computer by name / domain name / ip address
    all computers are domain joined
    also i have to say that the .accdb file is password protected, when i remove the password, there is no change in progress, still locally everything is fine but in lan NO .

    i don't know how to solve this problem. the point is it was working since yesterday. but today i can't run the application

    PS : i have to say that what i meant about "the program is not working" : the program login page appears and whatever i type in the username and password field i get "ADOQUerry1:cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset"

    PSS : the access version is 2007

    any suggestion ?!!

    You are really up the excrement creek without a means of propulsion!!

    FE = Delphi exe
    BE = MS Access database

    when i run the Application in local server
    What does this mean? Are you talking about putting the FE and Be on your desktop computer?
    Are they in the same folder?

    If you can open the FE, is there a place to set/change the location of the BE?

    Things I would try:
    Search for an INI file. Maybe the path to the BE is stored there.
    If you are really, really brave, search the registry to see if there is a key that sets the path to the BE.

    Keep searching for the programmer to get the source code.
    Or get someone to re-write the FE for you (and get/keep the source code this time).
