Access on home network showing read only when I open database

    Hi
i have set up a home network between my desktop and two laptops with the hope of being able to work on my first ever database wherever I am in the house, ie so using same database so it's always correct and upto date on all devices.

I can see the database doc when I go on the network but it shows as read only with a save as choice. I assume this will create a new version of the database which will then not be the same on the other two devices - can anyone help how to get rid of read only requirement or advise how I should set it up to achieve the above

    thanks
    dave

Sounds like a permissions thing. Under the Security tab for folder properties, you can use Advanced options to Change Permissions. There, you can add users and or "Replace all child object permissions....

You can do the same thing with the DB file itself.

The best approach is to give the correct permissions for the folder and THEN create a new DB file in THAT folder.
