    mismatch type compare help needed

How do I get this compare to work a field defined as text
compared to a field defined as numeric?

My text field has numeric data. I can not re-defined the table's field definition since the table is a linked in table from a vendor that is reloaded monthly from the vendor.

Attached is a screen print of my failure.

Thx for all and any help.

Did you try Val(), as suggested elsewhere? Are there any Null or text values in that field? Can you post a sample db? That function will normally work fine.

tried the value function and it is stopping

    You were Right On.

My problem was in another part of the query.

I have checking for a date field not be nulls.

I had it coded like > "nulls".

That was causing the error message of data mismatch. Once I word it right all worked good.

    Is NullIs Not Null

    Thx for direction and help.
