    Accounting Template

Is there anyone who has an accounting template or a link that they work like to share that outlines the set-up of a retail accounting template in access.

I have been using the Northwinds Traders Template as a reference but have found while it is very helpful on the order side of the retail equation it to be somewhat lacking on the financial accounting side such as accounts payable, accounts recievable, general ledger, invoicing, and statements.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I am an accountant and I can not agree more with NTC. Quickbooks is going to be your best bet. Do not trouble yourself with trying to "reinvent the wheel"
QB is very easy to learn and use.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess the issue that I am dealing with is that the company that I work for is still in the stone age when it comes to accounting and book keeping by still using an actual ledger book to record all the transactions. If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess.

However what I am working on is my own personal project management application so that I can do my estimates, convert them to orders, create P.O.s, record material invoices, etc. to keep track of my own accounts. If there was a way to link my access database to QB if they would ever switch over that would be great but at this time I am just looking for some advice on how you might set up the table and query structure to make it usable and accurate for what I am trying to accommplish.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
