Query locking or colour coding ?

    Hi guys,

I want to find out if it is possible to lock a query or group the queries in a different fold in the access nagivation pane.

I have to create many queries a day, but then I have 2 History_Documents in excel and those sheets are connected to the DB via ODBC and getting data from my queries and these queries I want to highlight/colour code/ group together so they are separate from other queries.

Is some like this possible ?

With Access 2003 I used to use Grouping all of the time. After a year of developing with 2010, I have yet to try it. I think it is as easy as a right click somewhere within the Navigation Pane.

As for locking a Query Object, the best approach is to remove Users' access to all Navigation Pane objects.

create a separate front end database, linking to the tables, and put all your custom queries in it......
