    Import Photos

I have a database of students with their academic record and other personal details. I want to import the photo of the concerned on to a report from a different folder containing photos---each one named as a file with the unique ID no. of the student. I am not able to configure the properties of the OLE object inserted on the report format. Pl help

Don't use OLE object, use Image Control. Set the ControlSource property to something like: ="\\server name\path\" & [StudentID] & ".jpg"

What file format are the pictures - jpg, bmp?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thanks. The photos are in the .jpg format, named studentID.jpg in the same drive in a folder photos. You mean the control source property should be ="\\drive name\folder name\" & [studentID] & ".jpg" (with all quotes) ?

Is this a split design database? Are there multiple users? If yeses then I suggest you use UNC pathing. UNC pathing references file server name, not drive letter. If you use drive letter the structure is like:

    ="X:\path\" & [StudentID] & ".jpg"
