Custom Autonumbering

hi all, i know this might have been answered here before however i could not find a thread.



i need an auto numbering sequence that will take the 2 digit year 2 digit month and 2 digit day followed by sequential numbers. for example i would like it to look like the following:

140522001
140522002

i am still learning access and my boss wanted me to create the data base for the company. i have learned a lot in the short time i have been working on this. but this is a bit beyond me. This is NOT for a primary or foreign key this is just an auto number sequence for ticketing and accounting reasons to keep it compliant with company standards.
