I would like to have a drag and drop feature!

Thsi is what my database looks like and I was wondering if there was a way to have a drag and drop feature that will allow me to drag certain records on the form and drop them above another or take one and move it down. It currently sorts by the Sort column. or If there is a way where I can click a record and move it up above the next record i would just like to be able to sort by the sort value then in the sort value sort all of the other values meaning if i had 10 records with sort value 2 then they will all be in a random order I want to be able to move them up also?

AFAIK, that is not possible in Access. Record order is determined by sort criteria applied to field(s).

Well do you think that there is a way that i can have an up down type thing to where if i click the record it will move in front of the one above it?

No, same reason. Would need a field that holds a value for sorting. Would have to change value all records affected. Accomplishing this programmatically is not easy.

Why don't you set multi-field sort criteria in the query or form Order By property?

I think that is what I am going toi have to do, Thank you, What about decimals if I make the field a decimal field and have it to where they can make it 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 and so forth?

Yes, make the field a Number Double type.

so after I make it a number double you think I can have decimals that will allow for the extra sort values?

how do you make it a number double I only get a number type not a double???

Look at the property settings at bottom of the table designer.

1. open table in design view

2. select the field in upper section of designer

3. look at the section at bottom of designer called Field Properties

4. set the Field Size property to Double
