    Expedite Pass Through related queries

I have a basic understanding of Pass Through queries. I'm not writing them since they run on external systems, but I do deal with queries and forms that are dependent on them and that poses some problems. Each time I edit a subquery, the Pass-Through query runs in background first, or at least that's how it seems to me. These things take from two to ten minutes depending on their parameters making editing objects a real chore. For queries I'd like to go directly to the SQL so I don't have to play this waiting game. I've taken to limiting the parameters to small samples, but that only helps a little. Is this a common problem? Pass throughs are very common at this jobsite.

Are you saying you want to open the query in sql view when the query opens, if so, then open in this view, save and then open again. What is the waiting game you speak of, waiting to edit the query or for it to run?
