Best way to quickly fill fields DOWN with the same value (a la Excel)

I'm wondering if there is a way in Access 2013 to - for example - enter a value in a date field and then highlight it and drag it down to populate all the records in the table with that value, as can be done in Excel?



I know this used to not be possible, and that one had to at the very least copy and paste over and over again in Access to accomplish this. Is that still the case?

That is still not possible in Access table nor on form.

This is what UPDATE queries are for.
