    msaccess fault error

    Hello all!

When using msaccess, it suddenly crashes with the following errors:

    • [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 driver]
    • [MySQLD 5.0.75 - 0ubuntu10.2] My SQL Client ran out of memory (#2008)
    • On Click error in db: There isn't enough memory to perform this operation

This error occurs when an event has failed to run because Microsoft Office Access cannot evaluate the location of the logic for the event. For example, if the OnOpen property of a form is set to=[Field], this error occurs because Access expects a macro or event name to run when the event is fired.

When I leave my db on, sometimes it times out with a ODBC error.

    When viewing the event viewer

    • Under Applications
    • Faulting application msaccess.exe, version 12.0.6423.1000, stamp 49b08a47, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5755, stamp 49901d48, debug? 0, fault address 0x000101b3.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    • Under Microsoft Sessions it says
    • ID: 2, Application Name: Microsoft Office Access, Application Version: 12.0.6423.1000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6425.1000. This session lasted 20142 seconds with 2280 seconds of active time. This session ended with a crash.

    Are all these errors related?

    Thanks

    The system is:
    Dell Dimension 3100
    Windows XP SP3
    2gb RAM
    Pentium p4 2.8

To me it does look like these errors are related.

It would appear that you have something that is causing all these errors.

What that is I cannot speculate.

Please post a copy of your Databse in 2003 and I will have a look.

How would I give you a copy of a 2007 db in 2003? I'm not the one who created the db. And just some background:

There are a couple of db's on this computer.
    1) Created for the office in 2007 that all the computers run and have no errors
    2) One that the user created on his computer that no one else uses.

Is it possible that these 2 db's are conflicting?

    I don't think you have a conflict.

These two databases you just mentioned, are they different from the one you are having problems with. Do these use a MySQL back end.

Have you tried compact and Repair? If so you may need to do a Decompile. You can find how to do this by a simple google search.

Surely no I run Mysql, PostgreSql, Sql Server, Open Office Base, IBM DB-2 Express, Oracle in a single computer I have no problems. I think the database you are trying to open uses a Mysql database as BE and there must be some problem with the field type.
