    Thanks for the quick reply.

Here's my environment, my database is split between a front end database and a back end database. The back end database is located on a shared network drive. Each user has the front end database installed on their local machine. The front end database is stored on a shared network drive for updating each user.

In my developement, I work on my local machine. When I've designed a new form, I then export that form to the front end database located on the shared network drive. Each user will then be updated with the new form.

So, when I create a text import spec, what do I need to export to the front end database on the shared drive?

In my view, when you're working with the FrontEnd, you should take a copy of the current Production FrontEnd, make your changes, test them thoroughly; then replace the FE on the shared drive with your latest modified version. Changes to the importSpec would "travel" with the FE
I recommend You don't start exporting pieces from your local PC - take a copy and repkace the full "production copy"

I second this. Exactly how I manage updates to the FE.

I call the FE on the server the "Master". Anytime I have to / want to make changes to the FE, I copy the "Master FE" to my computer, make the changes, test and test again, then copy the "New FE" back to the server. Everyone then gets a copy of the "new" FE.

Otherwise is it a case of "Button, button, who has the button??". (ie, which dB is the master?)

You can use the advanced options to include 'macros' such as import/export specs. When you import objects like tables, queries, and forms, there is a button (I think it is labeled "Advanced") you can click it and then tick the option to include your import specs.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I located the advanced options within the import of an Access DB.
