    simple linking question I hope

situation: A guy has 2 databases. I split db1 per request. After I split it successfully and linked the back end to all 4 computers, THEN he tells me he has a querry in db2 that no linger works. The querry in db2 used data in db1. How do I link it or fix it. I tried linking db2 to the back end of db1 (not really having a clue) and it didn't work. thanks

How was db2 set up to use tables in db1? Was it linked?

I don't know- I'm not a geek with access. I only read up on how to split the database so he could share between computers. Next thing I know he tells me about another database that has a query that won't work now. That's where I became clueless and figured they're linked somehow and maybe it's an easy fix to re-link or something. Beats me.

Have you tried reimporting the tables into db1 to see if the problem goes away?

do you mean click on external data (in db1) and import the backend table that I had split and placed on the network? Like unsplit it? What happens when I do that? Does that make the database is no longer split and puts everything back like it was before i split it? And if I do this, and the broken query is still broke, does that mean the splot wasn't the problem? And what if I find out that the query works when I import the table--- then how can I split it to keep the query from being interfered with. Remember- the query is in db2- not even a part of db1. Thanks in advance for your help on this
