Unable able to compact BE Database

I'm trying to compact my BE DB. With the DB open, selecting File, Compact & Repair, it brings up a Password Required dialog box. When I enter the password for the DB, after clicking ok, the Password Required dialog box reappears. After entering the password a total of 3 times, it displays a box stating not a valid password. Clicking OK, it brings up another Password Required dialog box. After entering the same password, it opens the DB.

I've tried to remove the password, but the same Password Required dialog box appears.

I haven't had any problems with the BE DB. Once a week, I compact it to keep it minimized. Their are no users in the DB while attempting to compact.

I've also tried copying the DB to my local drive, but I get the same results.

    Thanks in advance

You may want to move all of the objects to a new database.
