Angry Error Message 3163 "field is too small...."

I keep getting an error message in a text box in my form, even though I changed the field property from text to memo in the Table. I am using a combo box to select from a series of choices. It will not allow me to select a choice with more than 50 characters. ...here is the message:
"The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data. (Error 3163)"

    What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like corruption. Create a new Memo type field, update it with data from the existing field, delete old field, rename the new field.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thanks so much....It worked. I compacted and repaired numerous times but deleting old field was the key. Thanks again. Love this site!

We think of Forms and entire databases being corrupted, but as you've discovered, Controls can and do become corrupt, as well!
