Is there any way to select an object, such as a report, without opening the Navigation Pane?

Use code behind a form to open other objects.

Let me expand... I am using Select Object to pick a report, then using RunCommand acCmdPrint to print to a specific printer. The problem with this approach is that the Navigation Pane opens when I do the Select Object. My ultimate objective is to allow the operator to select any network printer to print the report on.

    Have you tried:

    DoCmd.OpenReport ...

    DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPrint

    DoCmd.CloseReport ...

This resulted in just printing the screen. Then when I close the "report", it instead closes the form. Any more ideas to try?

It works for me. Post your exact code or provide db. Follow instructions at bottom of my post.

I'm going to mark this as "solved". My objective is to allow the operator to select a printer when printing the report instead of always printing to the default printer and without assigning the report to a specific printer. The solution involved saving the default printer, prompting the operator for the given printer in a form named aaaSelectPrinter, setting the default printer to that printer, printing the report, then setting the default printer back to the saved printer. Works like a charm. Thanks for the feedback.
