    Criteria from Form

I have a select query which uses a crosstab query as it's source to allow the application of various criteria to the crosstab getting around the problem of applying criteria directly to crosstabs. In this case I want to pass criteria from a text box on an active form using the method of putting ">forms![frmRPT1]![text30] in the criteria box of the select query and eventually to the crosstab query for the field to be filtered on. When I do this and run the select query (with the form in "FORM VIEW and appropriate data in the text box, I get an error "The Microsoft Access database does not recognize forms![frmRPT1]![text30] as a valid field name of expression.

I use this technique successfully throughout my database on non-crosstab related select queries.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

    Thanks..

If the path and names are correct (no typos), try running a compact and repair on the data base and see if that helps.

I don't use the cross tab wizard to build cross tab queries, so I am afraid that was my only suggestion. Not sure why it is not working. If you are willing to build your crosstab without the wizard and try it, then look at this video.
