Summarize a Query, PivotTable Style (Access 2013)

So, I've recently learned that Access 2013 took a step backward and got rid of PivotTables. Unfortunately for me, PivotTables were perfect for summary reports I have to create with large data sets (some with millions of records).

What are my alternatives to PivotTables within Access 2013? I was playing around with the report builder, but it seems to retain all line items and doesn't allow me to collapse everything into a one page report.

Report options are to use an aggregate query as the RecordSource or use report Grouping & Sorting with aggregate calcs in group footer and set the Detail section as not visible.

    Thanks, June!

Quick question: Any idea why Access runs really slowly when creating reports or changing report views? Changing to Layout view, Print Preview, Design View, etc. takes 1-3 minutes, even when I'm only dealing with a few hundred records.

You said millions of records in the initial post. That and the complexity of report as well as a number of other issues could contribute to slow performance.

Yeah, but even when I use smaller databases/tables (i.e. with only hundreds of records), it still runs very slowly.

Then have to blame 'number of other issue'. I've never used Access 64-bit nor any Access 2013.
