Switchboard Security - Can individual swtichboards be password protected?

Is there a way to secure a switchboard that would be accssable by certain users only? I have a general switchboard set up that anyone can access but I would like to have a second switchboard that would be for a management level use only.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes. Assuming that you have already detected who the user is, you can set the form's on load event to test whether the user is a manager, then close itself if not.

So I would need a table set up giving each person an employee title?

There isn't a way just to password protect in general?

To do different things for different users, the database has to be aware of who the user is, somehow.

It's fairly easy to automatically identify a person by their LAN ID, for example, as long as each machine on the network is only used by one person. Depends on your business environment.

Yes, they'd have to be entered into the database somehow. But, you'd only have to enter records for the managers and programmers that you wanted to have special access, you could give everyone else the "default" access.

I wouldn't bother trying to have a "secret manager handshake" for the application, because in most shops that would last about ten days before the manager would give the secret away to some worker the manager wanted to do some work for them.
