No (+) for parent-child tables in linked database

I have related (one to many) tables in another database I'd like to display (readonly) for the user. However, whether the relationship is created in my current database or the database where the tables reside, I cannot view the in the 'Normal' way with the (+) sign to allow the user to open the related child table.

If I have to, I guess I could create a form/subform to do it, but perhaps someone knows a workaround.

I just tried the form/subform, both in datasheet view, and I get the (+) sign, but the child subform is empty although when I view the parent table in its own database, the records display.

It us usually a poor idea to let users open tables directly. You completely loose control over the integrity of the data.

O must not have been holding my head just rigth. I recreated the parent form and child form, both with datasheet views, stuck child into the parent and viola! it worked!
