    General Windows Questoin

    I've gotten a new machine going from xp/office 2003 to windows 7/office 2013.

I ***HATE*** the washed out appearance of windows/office. Is there a way to get the office suite (MS Access in particular) to look more like it did in 2003. The bright color scheme and the lack of sharp lines/differentiation in shades of gray between 2003 and 2013 is extremely hard on my eyes. I've played with the color schemes through the control panel but had no luck in bringing back the sharper contrast of 2003. If anyone can offer insight to fix this for my poor eyes I would kiss you.

I found a way to change it to windows classic, but, for instance, lines between items in a spreadsheet/table still appear washed out as do objects names in the database window. If anyone knows of a way to make that contrast higher (whether there's a particular setting in the control panel or in access itself) I would love to hear it.

In Access 2010 I switched my color scheme to "Black". This is the best contrast I have found. It is available in the "General" settings. It changes the theme for Office

Did you have to do anything special to get that option.

My only options there are white, gray and dark gray

    (I tried that earlier too

I don't think I have anything special. The version I have is A2010 and I got it back when 2010 was first available. Some text within the windows still shows up in various shades of grey. The only other thing I can think of is my WIndows them. The theme for the OS. I chose a contrast theme from "Basic and High Contrast Themes". Maybe when I clicked one of the contrast optionsl, it toggled something in the machines registry. I have since changed the OS theme feom High Contrast to something else.

Yeah I don't have that setting I have 'office background' which isn't really applicable and 'office theme' the office theme is where I have the dark gray option. There is no color scheme setting in 2010 :/.

Was worth a shot, so thanks for trying.
