    Login screens with SharePoint

On my MS Access/SharePoint hybrid application I have noticed the Access database will hang if I open Access and go directly to a query. It never asks for a user name and password to read the lists located on the SharePoint server.

To get around this I select the refresh list option on one of the tables prior to accessing a query, report, or form for the first time. This will cause MS Access to display the login screen to SharePoint and establish the proper links.

How do I setup the MS Access database so it asks for the user name and password as soon as the user opens the MS Access database? This would prevent my database from hanging.

Not sure if you're still looking for the answer here or not. If you use a macro to enable one of you sharepoint tables and then automatically close it, the login screen will show up when you start the database.

    Hi adawg,

Your macro idea looks sound. What I eventually discovered is that the Internet Explorer security settings were set too high. After I lowered them the problem went away. My solution works great if your company allows this. If not, then your solution by far would be the way to go.

I can't comment on CRM Software, but Gmail can be used with any mail client like Outlook. You are never required to access Gmail through a browser. I've always accessed Gmail through Outlook and now the mail client that ships with OSX. Do you have any idea about this
