add a column to large table, new column auto filled in?

I have a large data base table. I want to add a column to it with that column being already filled in with the same info.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I sure dont want to have to type in all 18000 rows manually....

In order to get meaningful advice, you're going to have to describe WHAT you are trying to with some sample data. What do you mean by large database?
Same info -- -same as what?

Why would you need 'same info'? Info from another table? This sounds like duplication of data.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
