How many files/pics can be attached to database?

    Hi all,

I have created a database that tracks information about properties, and the staff members living in those properties. Each property has a lease contract and some pics taken for it.. so you can imagine how huge can the database size become after attaching many files

I was wondering, is there any limitation for attaching files? I mean, we have lots!! of staff members living in properties we lease for them, and you can imagine how many lease contracts and pics are attached.. so, no problem on the number? or it does really matter?

Any comment will be highly appreciated!

    Suzan,

Most Access developers recommend that you not store picture files in an Access db.

The more usual practice is to store pictures in a dedicated folder, and then to store the path and file name of the picture in your Access db. Whenever you need to show the picture in a form or report, use VBA to update a Picture control to grab the file based on the path.
