Qurey on two ODBC Tables Strange behaviour

    Hi,

i had this problem a couple of times in the past and had to work around.
But somehow i like to know how to solve this issue.

I have a database with two ODBC Tables linked. For example a trip table and an invoice table.
I create a simple query on these two tables. Both tables have the field "tripno" as reference. I link these fields and display both tipno fields from both tables.
When i start the query something strange happens.

Even if the trip fields are linked, the records displayed show uneqal values!
This is a behavoir which cannot be correct. When two fields are linked they have to be the same ! I work alot with access and sql but i haven't seen this before. The query is simple and cannot be wrong. When i copy the sql to a diffrent prog. For instance ODBC Query Tool, i get a correct resultset.

I have two screenshots for you ready:

This must be a bug of Access related to the ODBC Driver.

My question is: Does anybody had this behavoir as well in the past ?
Does anybody know how to fix it in Access 2003 or is it working in a more recent Access Version ?

    thanks
    bye

I don't think the problem is with Access; I think that it's the connection with the external tables. What kind of datasource do the external tables have?
