    Connecting Unbound Field to Form

    Hi,

I have two tables Main and Survey, both of which contain a PtID. I have a form that has the Main table as the record source. However, there is one field,Facility, that is found in the Survey table that I would like to have auto populated based on the individual appearing in the form. The PtID is what connects these two tables I've tried to create an unbound combo box that connects the two tables by the PtID and adding that field with the associated Facility. All this does in the form is give me a list but does not give me a specific value.

It depends on what you want to do. If the tables are related in one to many relationship you can create a query of the main table 1 and add a field from table 2 in the query and then have that query as the record source.

You can create a subform which has the other table and fields from that table on the main form too. Again the table's have to be related.
