I added a field using Design View/table. The database has been in use for several years and has a lot of data in it. The new field shows in table form, but it won't come up in the data entry form.
Any help would be appreciated!

You should be using a query as the RecordSource of your form. Is the field in the query?
I only know enough to get by with the minimum on Access, and I apologize, and I thank you for it, but I don't understand your reply.
Thanks!
Couldn't tell that from your first post, sorry. OPen the DataEntry form in design view. Go to the Data tab and what is in the 1st row(RecordSource)? Is it a table or a query? REmember what it is and then set it to blank or anything else. Save it and then open it back up in design mode and set it back to whatever it was originally and save it. Your Field List should now be complete.
By accident I found the Data tab, and it is set on Record Source and I believe it is a table. But... I can't figure out how to "set it to blank or anything else." I hope you don't get fed up with me! Thanks!
Use the DropDown on that property and select anything else then close and save. Open back up to the Data Tab and re-select the original table. That should do it.
I have a similar problem but with an earlier version of Access. I am trying to update an existing form. I have entered the updates on the parent table but the field view in the form does not reflect this update. I cannot add controls that work due to the field source being unknown. If I open the data tab, the Row Source does not list a table or a query, it has been manually entered as a list in the past. It seems as though I just need to connect the table to the field view in order to bound my controls. How can I get the field view in my form to update from the table?
Without a static RecordSource for the form, Access has no idea what to display for the fields.
Somehow I found "field list" and was able to get the new field into my form. It was an accident... Thank you so much for your help. Suzie
The more you work with Access, the easier things get.
My question is finished but there is still one from Suzy, so I don't want to use the resolved tool. What should I do?

How are the other controls on your form able to update firlds in a table?
They are listed as they appear in the table but the actual table name does not appear. i.e. "09 member date" appears as the control source. I have the new control in the table but it does not appear in the field list when I try to add the new control to the form.
A form has a RecordSource and a ComboBox has a RowSource. Are you saying your RecordSource of the form is blank? It needs to be refreshed to show the new fields.
The combo box rowsource is what I am dealing with. How or where do I view the forms record source and therefore refresh it?
