basically, everything you see in the database NEEDS to be there. We cant modify any of it. We need all the new items.. (in some cases thousands) to append ad then re-import to our database.

So the records may already exist? How can I tell if it is a new record or an old one that needs to be updated?
Are the updating Excel files going to be in different formats? Can we depend on the columns in this order or the column names being the same?
the excel file is all new. No modifications to pre-existing data.... See its actually really complicated. Not so easy huh.
Each of those items on the spreadsheet need to be imported as new items in the database.. Its basically an update to the database
So the Excel rows are *always* appended to the existing Items table right? Still not very difficult. I'll let you know when I have something.
anything yet?
Your db is an mdb yet you have ac2007 and the Excel file is an xlsx file. What will you be using?
