    Reserved Error -1517

My FrontEnd/BackEnd application has been working for 3 years, however, today it became stubborn. A FE query appends records to a BE table - simple enough - except today I am getting this error and the query will not append the records.

    Why?

I don't know. I tried re-linking the tables, rebuilting the queries - still get the error. Size of the BE db (data side) is only .3G.

Any and all clues would be appreciated.

    Sorry not enough information.

Retrace what you have done recently.

    Maybe restore a Back up.

I got it working by compacting and repairing the back end database, but why that worked is still a mystery to me since it was only .3G in size.

300 mb is quite large in access land.

A compact and repair should be a regular operation.

Back up first. Just in case.

Explain your thoughts please because everything I read about Access says it can grow to 2G. What am I missing?

You are correct, 2G is the Max. But 300 M is still quite large.

I am merely suggesting that a Compact and Repair should be part of your regular activities.

But always back up before a Compact and Repair.
