    Unhappy Help creating Table

    Dear Madam/Sir,
I have two tables A & B. Table A contains New patients and table B contains Revisit patients. Table B has most of the same fields as in table A except Revisit_date. I want that when I enter data in the OPD_ID field in table B all the data in the same row to it in Table A appear in all corresponding fields in table B. The OPD_ID field is a Primary key in table A but not in table B. Please help as I am stuck with this problem. Thanks a lot.

It sounds to me like everything should be in one table and if Revisit_date is Null, they are a New patient.

What is the purpose to have two tables? You can have just one table, as commented by RuralGuy.

Provide deatils if this is still an issue.

    Dear Sir,
The table B contains the follow up of the patients in table A. The all will have multiple revisits and a date wise report is to be take of the revisits.

    Thank you

All patients should be in table A. Table B should be visit information, for first visit and any subsequent visits.

Can use form/subform arrangement for data entry.

    roderick:

You do not need to have al the informtion form table A populated on table B, that is the main point on databses, you must get a relation ship using the ID onthe firt table, that must be your primary key and have a similar field on table B (whic will not be a primary key) and use them for relationship.

If you want to have visibility fromt he data on tbale A from an specific patien when you enter information on a re-visit, you can have a form puling data from table A (based in ID) and have text boxes to input the infomrtion related to the re-visit on table B.

I hope this is clear and can help you.

But the main point is to reduce the amount of data, whic is restrciting to have duplicated information. You must use relations for what you want to do.
