transferring data to another access database (before delete)

    Hello...
I have a database with a main database that has 2 related tables...my problem is that i only keep data that i really need, in the main table. My problem is that i sometimes need to go back to old data that i erased. so i have to keep old data too. but i can;t on the same database. so i need to move the old records from the main table and all the related data to another database that will keep all the erased data, so if i need to find something i will search on the "deleted records" database.

    Any ideas???

Why can't you keep all the records in one database? Apparently you 'really need' all of it.

This link might be helpful and you can always create another db and then move those records to a completely different db.

    thanks for the replys guys.

i don't want to keep the old data in the same database because i don't to mix old data to new to avoid any possible errors, and to keep the database smaller.

i checked the link, haven't tried yet, but my only concern is that it speaks for 1 table only. what about the data from another table that is related to the main table with 1 to many relation?

Is the PK/FK linking with autonumber field? I have noticed that copying records from a table using autonumber pk will carry over the same PK values to another table with autonumber PK field.
