Moved Access 2007 front end to Server 2012 and get ODBC--call failed message

As the title says, moved an Access 2007 front end to Server 2012 (64 bit) from Server 2003 (32 bit).

Can pull the table up, but all forms/queries I get 'ODBC--call failed' message - and just that - nothing descriptive.

On the 32 bit server using Native Client 10.0 and have loaded Native Client 11.0 on Server 2012 machine - 64 and 32 bit.

    What am I missing.

Could this be a problem with where Access is looking for the executible?( Program Files (x86))

    Thanks for your help.

Have you used the Linked Table Manager to relink the BackEnd yet? Does your FE open if you hold down a <SHIFT> key?

Yes, I used the linked table manager to link to the table again. Not sure what you mean by FE...

(FE) = FrontEnd. Does it open with the <SHIFT> key?

I merely double-click on the access file to open it (actually a shortcut from the Server 2012 desktop).

I am not an Access Administrator - I have always coded business rules in COM+ in the past and created VB front ends, but the company I work for now has a huge Access front end and used SQL Server as the database, so I am learning Access a bit at a time for a few new forms - we have to move the Front end to Server 2012 because the other machine it getting hit too much with cpu demands from another program.

Everyone should have their own copy of the FrontEnd and here's a good link to bookmark: http://www.accessmvp.com/TWickerath/.../multiuser.htm

Does it open the same when you hold down a <SHIFT> key while double-clicking the shortcut?

So let me know if I have read everything correctly after AI explain how people currently access the program.

Currently the Access database is on a Server 2003 machine and users all remote desktop into it with a particular username/password combination and do their business. The SQL Server database is in the cloud.

All computers have Office 2007 installed on them (including Access).

It seems as though I should copy the Access db to each computer and then they would not have to Remote desktop in at all.

    Do I have this right?

Remote Desktop eliminates the speed of the internet as a bottleneck. They should still be running their own copies of the FrontEnd. Having more than one user in the same copy of the FrontEnd is a formula for corruption. http://allenbrowne.com/ser-25.html

If you didn't know, Access is *NOT* a Server/Client system but a PeerToPeer system. You are simply using the Server as one of the peers.

So are you saying that by my copying the front end Access file to each computer, with the SQL database in the cloud I should have no problems and kill 2 birds with one stone

Thisis my way of repeating the question I asked earlier that you did not answer....

I really don't know much about "the cloud" so I do not have an answer to that question. If the users need to use the internet to get to the BE then RDP will give you better performance. Each user should still be using their own copy of the FE in say a different directory for each user.

That still does not explain the ODBC error. Do you have the BE in the same directory as the FE?
