EchoOn No does not suppress the Status Bar Text. Not sure what it does suppress.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Never used it, don't know what 'screen' updating it suppresses, but it is not the status bar.

    Not really understanding your issue.

Why would you need to set EchoOn to Yes? I think the usual situation is to set EchoOn to No when macro begins so therefore have a special message in the status bar. When the macro finishes EchoOn automatically goes back to Yes and the status bar text changes. If you toggle EchoOn between yes and no within the macro, then follow each EchoOn call with specific Status Bar Text.
