Best place to start Access self-education

Can anybody recommend a source to learn how to build/construct/make an Access database preferably targeted to the common person using plain English? In other words, I need to be taught as if I were a 5 year old. LOL

I posted a bunch of good resources on this thread https://www.accessforums.net/access/...rms-36092.html

Start with Crystal Long's free Access 2003 tutorial book, link in post 5 of that thread, then go to functionX for their tutorial, link in post 7 of that thread. After that, you should be ready to poke around on the MVP sites and come up with cool stuff to tell US about.

It's a big wide tangly "forest" of information out there, but Crystal Long has provided a pleasant "glade" near the entrance to the forest.

When you start designing a database, check out Roger Carlson's tutorials on Database design and application design. They give you a grounding in "database theory", without any ten-dollar words. Just common sense - list all the THINGS that you're going to keep track of - the NOUNS. Now list all the qualities they have - the Adjectives or numbers or possessions.... and so on. Great examples, more important to understand the technique than necessarily ot do it perfect.

There are pros and cons of the internet being like the wild west! Thanks for directions to the "glade".
