Need help with entering data in linked tables where there is no record in the parent

I'm not sure I'm posting in the correct forum. I'm in the middle of creating an access database to track budget spending. I've listed the vendors we normally use in their own table and have it linked to a transaction table. the issue is when I am entering in a transaction for a vendor that does not appear in the vendors table I have to exit out of the transaction table and enter the vendor in the vendor table and then go back to the transaction table to continue entering in the transaction. Not really a big issue, just an annoyance really.

what I want to know is this? Is there a way that when I enter a transaction and the vendor doesn't exist in the vendor table, can access ask me if I would like to add that vendor and I say yes and a window pops open to add them or they are just magically added when i click yes? would i need a VBA code for that?

    thanks!
