    Table Relationships help

Attached is my relationships of a small database I am developing for my brother-in-law and his small auto repair shop.
He enters data each month to tally Totals on money spent on parts ( PartPurchased) and outside of his shop work (subletPurchased).
And to tally total of money received.

    He also enters shop expenses.
This all needs to be able to be queried my date.
He never has need to query by customer, Yet.

This was my first data base I ever developed and it was a mess, so I am redoing it correctly this time.

    The question I have is:
Are my table correct as you see them?
If I ever have a need to query by customer I think I can by using the date table. Not to sure there.

What is purpose of tblDate? Why not just enter the date of bill into tblUtilities and tblShopExpenses? The month and year parts can always be calculated from the date value.

A utility is an expense. Why not enter records into tblShopExpenses?

Need date fields in tblPurchased and tblReceived?

Is tblNames really Customers or Clients? Suggest you use meaningful names for fields and tables.

I also do not understand TblDates???
    What does Item_Id refer to?

I think you should write down What an expense is in your database/business environment.
You will likely find different types of expenses --Heat, water, electricity, phone, rent... parts, supplies....

I also think it would be good for you to define tblReceived and tblPurchased and WHAT you expect to store in these.

If you go to this tutorial and review the business overview, and try to write up your business in a similar manner, I think your tables and relationships will be clearer.

    Good luck with your project
