Can no longer delete objects (tables, forms etc).

I have a weird problem with my Access 2007.

I created a BackEnd/FrontEnd database. In the BE all is fine, but now, suddenly, in the FrontEnd, i can no longer delete (or rename) any of the objects (Tables, Queries, Forms etc.). When i right-click on them in the Navigation Pane, the options to Rename and Delete are greyed out.

Also, i have linked tables and now the Linked Table Manager is greyed out.

    What's going on?

    Thanks in advance,
    James

It would appear that you have converted your Database to 2007's equilivant of 2003's mde.

I am not a 2007 user so I don't know what the extension is.

Hope this is some help and that you have a back up.

Nope, i'm still using the .accdb file. I can go into Design for forms etc and make changes, it's just that if i right-click in the Navigation Pane, some of the options are greyed out.

Try IMPORTING the FrontEnd into a new db and see if the problem persists.

That works, UNTIL i close the new Database and reopen it. Then i've got the same problem.

That's weird! Are all of your files in your Trusted Location? It could be some sort of Vista issue.

Sorted it. And i'm almost too embarrassed to say what it was. But i'll risk the shame......

It just might have something to do with the line in the AutoExec macro which says "LockNavigationPane,Yes" (well i'd pinched a few bits from web site examples without really understanding what they were doing)!

I'll just go and slink off now. Thank you for your time and help though.

    Shamed of Wimbledon.
