    Fairly new to Access....general questions/problems

First off, let me thank all involved for this forum.

I'm a newly, understaffed, undereducated appointed IT manager of a small rural hospital. I have been given the task of creating a small Emergency Room Log. I have used Access in the past (97) for small personal projects.
Progress to this point. I first created the main table for the log. I then created seperate tables for the consistent data entered (ER docs, ER nurse, Levels of Care, Discharge Mode, Arrival Mode, etc.) I then created forms to populate these tables.
On the main table I used the patients encounter number for the Primary Key. On the smaller tables I used an auto-number for the Primary key.

My main problem now is that when I run a query ...say searching for patients seen and who saw them....I get the Primary Key instead of the Physicians name.

All other data (from main table is good) just data being pulled from the smaller tables.

    Relationships????

Sorry so long and probably not enough info...

Thanks in advance for any comments......

I'll provide any and all information that I can....I am limited because the test data that I used was acutal patient names.
    Mike

    Mike,

Does your query join to the physicians table?
