Question Applying a theme to a form without applying it to the subform

In short: can that be done? This is per some instructions in a class I'm taking. The teacher suggested right-clicking on the theme and choosing "apply to this object only", but that hasn't worked. The form and subform are insistent on having the same theme at all times.

Are you talking about having a graphic as a backdrop on your form that you do not want displaying through the subform or are you talking about a different style of button/box when you say 'theme'?

I mean the feature of Access 2010 called "themes", which apply a pre-chosen group of formatting (colors, typefaces, etc) to a document or part of one. The various themes have names, like "Verve", and come with the program.

Never bothered with themes before so did some experiementing. I opened subform independently in design view and set a theme for it. Then opened main form in design view and set a theme for it. Open in form view and I see different theme effects for each form. Odd thing is the subform opened independently in form view does not show the theme effects.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thank you. I'm finding the same issue, so it seems that my Access is working like anyone else's.
