    Update Query- selective update?

I have a spreadsheet that is used as a first step to importing a ton of information about clients' sites. Works fine, no problem.

Periodically, clients have bulk changes that need to be made. They could be in any one of those criteria. Say, "operating hours" or "District Name". I would like to be able to populate the spreadsheet, and perform an update query to change those records. That too, is easy to do. BUT is there a way to make the query overwrite existing data ONLY IF new data is present?

For example, we may only be overwriting "operating hours." If I run an update query where SiteName and OperatingHours have data in them, all of the other data for that SiteName gets overwritten with blanks.

    Can this be prevented?

    Thanks!

    Stephen.

Have you tried using find and replace?
