ODBC error with Linked Table Manager

I am trying to learn how to relink linked tables in my access database. I can easily create linked tables with no problem. I can run the "move to SQL server" wizzard with no problem.

I assume that I use the "Linked table Manager" to do this. I check the tables I want to update and it simply returns a links refreshed message.
So, I check the "always ask for new location box" which I assume is suppose to ask me if I want to connect to a different database. I get an "ODBC error". So why does this happen?

I used a DSN file to create the linked tables. Then I tried a DSN system connection. It still fails. So what DSN connection is used when the "ask for new location" is checked.
    Thanks for any help

    Solved (sort of)

Windows account needs to have access to the SQL database. It seem there should be a way to use a DSN so the windows account isn't necessarily need access to the database.
